Well I've finally got some motivation back to finish this thread off after I typed out the last 2 Days then lost it by hitting the wrong button. I had the shits after all that typing for nothing so I gave it a rest for a while & concentrated on Editing the hours & hours of Gopro Footage from the 3 Camera's.
Day 9: 680.5 Km's covered The last 2 Days were pretty much just racking up the K's so nothing really amazing to talk about. From Hungerford we headed down the Dowling track which was full of the same corrugations & rocks that we had become used to but we had to savour the Dirt as it was going to be all Tar from Bourke onwards. The stretch from here to Nyngan was pretty boring as the road does not have one single bend in 128kms of Black stuff. We stopped for the night at Dunedoo where once again we were looked after by the Publican who was happy to give us a lock up shed to keep the Bikes in while we suffed our faces before crashing out. ![]() Day 10: 329.9 Kms covered. Our Last Day, we woke to heavy Fog which plagued us for the first half of the Ride Home. At times it was so thick we had to slow right down as the build up of water on the goggles made it hard going for a while but it cleared before Merriwa & we were able to really enjoy the Riding the Golden Hwy is renowned for. As luck would have it, Our run of no Rain came to an end about 1 hr from home & we got wet for the 1st time on the Trip. Soaking wet & stuck in traffic in Maitland, reality soon struck & I could have quite easily turned around & gone straight back. I am now hooked on this Adventure Riding stuff & we are already planning out Next Assault. WE WILL BE BACK !! ![]() Total Kms covered:4571.6 25/02/2012 Finally finished the Video & had the Fella's over to watch the Footage. Great things these Gopro's as they capture plenty of memories otherwise forgotten. If anyone wants to spend 16 min to watch the Vid, its Here. Probably too long for most people to sit through but it gives a pretty good idea of what its like racking up long K,s in the Aussie Outback. Thanks all for following our little Adventure.
