Shoot if that is photoshop, I sure fell for it. I believed it thinking those were his jet ski trophies. He was and may still be, a pretty good jet ski racer.

My son and I went for a DS ride yesterday and it turned into quite a ride. We started from my house in Lucerne Vly and went up Grapevine canyon. My son was on an almost stock 06 KLR and I was on an old 83 XR500R. The KLR only had different skid plate, pegs, Dulop 606s and exhaust but was stock otherwise. Most of the ride was your usual DS ride until we ended up of the John Bull trail. If you've never been on it like my son and I here's some pictures. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...ail&FORM=IGRE#

My son ended up making it thru the whole trail and never feel but he did get high centered on one of the numerous boulders we had to cross and had to lift it off, his poor back! He did manage to break 3 spokes and bend 4 more in the rear wheel. Check out the pictures and you can see why.

Here's a video of the trail http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN_fYjl_zDk

Its so weird to see Vanilla posting grainy pics of himself excited about his new KLR. Cool, but weird.

"Most" of the time when I'm upshifting...unless I pull in the clutch an obnoxiously long time before moving the shift lever, I feel a significant 'clunk' in the lever. It shifts into the next gear, but the clunk is annoying and it's got me wondering if something's gonna fail eventually.

This is present at all stages of 'immediately after' to 'needing it done' chain adjustment, so that's not it. It also does it with little-to-no slack in the clutch cable or with the cable on the 'loose' side. The bike runs fine otherwise.

Ideas?
I had a similar experience on my 2009 with 17K. The clutch cable was stretching. It eventually failed.

I'm having an odd clutch issue with mine. The lever is slightly loose, maybe 1/8" play at the end of the lever, but whenever I rev it over 4000rpm it seems to get really tight with zero slack whatsoever. The moment I pull the lever all the way in I can feel something give slightly and the slack is back again.

Any ideas??
