No it is not. However, about 1 1/2 years ago while Katy and I were in PA we were in the Shanksville area one evening driving around countryside and went to see the memorial, but it had closed for the day a little before we got there. So I have never been there, but was once very close to it.

We would have missed it if my cousin in Pittsburgh hadn't told us it was right on the highway to Gettysburg (we were heading to the 150th anniversary of that battle).
A very simple monument with the names on it. You can see that a lot of care was taken to keep the nature of the area, the open fields, with the interpretive area well back.
Ordinary citizens who had a few minutes to decide to fight or not, and gave everything saving our capital. Heroes is an inadequte word.


I think the monument in your picture is in Idaho?

I thought I recognized the school, however I did not have time to verify by checking my pics. If I hadn't gotten it one of the magoo's would have we've been there with them before, and previously as well.
