I just double checked my Benchmark atlas and the river that shares the same name as the lake and area is on the north side of the road the photo was taken from.

I somehow missed your last pic posted and was wagging at the previous one. Was wondering how sagebrush was west of the cascades!

Martin Creek is getting further away from the area.

Here's where and why we turned around, about 1/2 mile up the road from the photo. This was taken in June.




The original photo was taken on FS2207 just a couple miles from Opal Lake and we're looking down on Cedar Creek.
