Geez....you guys!!!

i really am thankful that I found this place, although it doesn't appear this way, I've learned a lot.

Thanks Doug and HB for the offers. You guys are just too kind.
And to all the small business people, this sucks. I feel your pain, I'm getting cut down by hack carpenters renting buffers and saying "we sanded the floor!!!"

But, on the up side I have 2 straight weeks of work!!!! So I gotta go load my tools.!!

The repair approach looks sound, but you would benefit from reading this article by Tony Foale on how to implement gussets: http://www.tonyfoale.com/Articles/Fr...d/KawaMods.htm

The frame tabs at the rear were only designed to support turn signals. They all crack with a rack attached.
As a non-invasive repair for the seat; I'd just attach a tongue with blind rivets, and spread the stressed area across a mounting plate attached to the bottom of the pan.

Hardwaregrrl, or anybody else...I'm also going to throw my hat in the ring.
I've personally done more than a few "modifications" to my GS, knowledgable in using alternative parts and I know people who know other people to help fellow Airhead owners. Currently, I'm unemployed (collecting unemployment 'til the end of Dec.) and have lots of free time available. SO if I can be of any assistance, please let me know

And my day just got so much better. I fell through a floor today and dislocated my thumb and possibly tore some ligaments. First day on the first job in 2 months. My luck is sucking right now.

Thanks MoMan for the offer. I'll have to set it aside for now.

Same here, brother. $80,000 education and I've been unemployed ever since I graduated last year. I'd happily descend into alcoholism but I can't afford beer.

I'm so lucky Christan got a "real" job and got us insurance! Going to a hand therapy doc tomorrow.
