This is true! I think maybe NW Arkansas should be a good meet up point. I'll shoot you a message next time I head up that way, and you do the same.

I knew I recognized that voice

Love your windscreen, it's just like mine, 3 bucks at Harbor Freight

Someone needs to put a sign in sheet at that tunnel, I'm sure there's going to be several of us visit it first chance we get.

And thinks for the RR.

Thats the cheapest new bike eduro touring you can do,

i bought the DRZ400SM but probable i would have bought that bike because on the higher roads it has no 6 gear so it tacts pretty high for touring what year di that bike com out i bought my DRZ in 2009 i was scared the cc wasn't big enough but it probably is. KTM has a 530 but i was thinking the BMWF800GS is slightly more and its a lot more bike then the KTMEXCs

flightestman.. the WR250R came out here in the use on 2008.. its hands down an amazing adventure bike, I have no complaints at all with it.... for the riding I like to do, there isn't a better bike out there! Especially these kinda rides in my report.. a few times I got in some pretty tight stuff, but no problems on the WR.. and if I drop it.. I can easily pick it up all loaded down too.. There are a ton of nice bikes to be had... but the WR, once you take one on a long trip.. and discover the possibilities it offers, it should never be over looked..

I like my Versys but boy.. I'd hate to pick that up somewhere in the middle of nowhere all alone..

Really liked your ride report, I ride down in that area quite a bit and it's always really nice and the roads are lightly traveled. What software are you using on the Garmin? I've just been using paper maps and it would be nice to highlight some of the nice finds.

I use Mapsource with my GPS.. but I use other tools too .. like maps.google.com and my favorite gpsvisualizer.com! The different topo overlays are very nice!

Not sure how I missed this before, but a great day ride just like I often take. Thanks for sharing.

If you click the link in my sig to "KLR Chronicles" it will link you to my ADV ride reports (the whole 3 of 'em). 2/3 are railroad/bridge/tunnel related.

Nice report!

I'm pretty sure the trees are "American Sycamore". Pretty common tree. Very striking when the bark in the tops is bright white...

Thanks, Bash3r.

Very nice ride report! All the elements -- good writing, great photos, the moto and scenery, etc -- great overall style.

The BNSF link was interesting. I like your ridin' style -- explore and appreciate. Way to go!
