If you guys arrive Wednesday morning, please leave the area next to the power and water supply open for the "RDV Carnie Caravan Troup" heading up from Asheville.

If you don't - NO beer for you!

There is no way I would sleep in one. I'd rather sleep under one of the picnic tables.

Me and a few buddies aren't going to be able to make it until Friday night. Hows the campground going to be looking as far as space by then? Pretty tight, or plenty of trees to hook a tarp up to?
Also, are there showers available for the campers? Or only cabin'ers?

Hi Josh,

There should be plenty of camp space - even if you don't arrive till Friday evening.

Regardless if you camp behind Freebornes or at Woody's, you will have to pay at Woody's - which allows you to use their showers (please don't expect to much). The area behind Freebornes is pretty much just open field, but it's connected to the treed area at Woody's (not sure if there will be a tree left by Friday).

Hope this helps

Cool. I'll just make sure I pack a bar of soap for the trip and use the creek.
Do we need to sign up for rides, or just be up and ready for one when people start rolling out?

no sign-up - just be ready... (and gased up - gas is a few miles down the road)

That little band of trees: the main reason I'm going to be there Wednesday afternoon.

Are the cabins really that bad? We have the three person one reserved.

I've given up on the prospect of getting a tree after reading through and looking at the numbers. No worries. I plan on strutting around in my speedo for awhile in hopes that one of the millions of single ladies on ADV offers to share their tree.

Back up plan is my tent.

Rule #1: pay your money to all parties. Scabs will be VIOLATED!

Rule #2: don't rely on hammock space

Rule #3 Dr Bronner's soap

Rule #4: No such thing as cabins; think "camper" that has been abandoned

Rule #5 and most important! Be honest about your ability and goals, join the right ride! No sign-ups and pray to doG, no Life-Flight rides this year! If you want a near death experience, there is a ride for you. If you Armor-All your tires, there is a ride for you!
