Congrats - Marc Coma!

Loved it when as soon as the cameras arrived at the finish, there he was offering respect for Kurt Casselli, pointing at the sticker on his fairing.

The usually stoic Depres, gracious in his finish.

Heroic effort from Barreda Bort.

Watching Duclos beach a truck...priceless

Loved every bit of it.

I feel for Stephane Peterhansel. He earned the win, and team orders forced him to let his teammate pass, and thereby take the win...ridiculous.

When Coma and Viladoms arrived at the airport in Barcelona they were welcomed by a sea of reporters. Marc at the beginning couldn't even greet his family without being mobbed by journalists.

Marc Coma with his little son.

Mini's big thing was they wanted to fill the podium. Had they allowed Peterhansel to win - like he deserved - they still would have had the podium and no PR nightmare. Makes no sense to me.

Marc Coma: I even thought I wouldn't make it
By Tim Sturtridge / Pablo Bueno on 20 January 2014 in Offroad, Rally Raid
Dakar 2014 winner, Marc Coma, talks about his most suffered and worked victory in his career.
Three years of drought. The absence in 2013 because an injury... The slow recovery... Honda and Yamaha official teams pushing hard... The path to his finally win in 2014 Dakar has not been a bed of roses for Marc Coma. "When I finally could ride the bike again it was like I've never been a professional rider. These season was about beginning to race from zero", said the Spaniard just before the start of the desert classic on January 5th.

The toughest Dakar in my life

He has had his time in the limelight, why not allow his teammate have his day if it is deserved. Kind of places a foul on the Dakar..

Wrong thread, wrong class. Nobody could touch Coma this year.

I'm sure there were times in Peterhansel's career that his team mate had to pull over and let him win.

Team orders happen in all forms of motor sport, and have done since big teams started pouring big money into them...

Troy knows more about it than me, and if I could quote his post in the Australian section, I would...

It's on this page anyway.

If you came in late and saw the end only it could appear odd.

It's a somewhat complicated formula over 2 weeks, but Coma won it on time hands down
