Hassayampa, Vulture mines, Bellmont Mtn.

On Sunday Dec. 4th me & Bigbugburg decided to make that ride that he already planned/& did it a while back, starting from Winckenburg all z way to I-10 west via Vulture Mines rd & Bellmont Mtn. The sceneries are breath taking and z weather was freezing in z morning but it get warmer ~ 10:30am. My camera wasn't working so all photos were taking by my fellow rider Bigbugburg.
Bigbugburg on KTM-690.
DR650SEddy on DRZ-400E.
There was some unusual layer of snow in places we didn't expected to be. Temperature was close to freezin' in z morning when we first started so we stopped a couple of times to warm up our hands on our mufflers specially me.

The terrains was so diverse (it's B/B+ difficulty ) mixed of sand washes, loose rocky uphills, 2 tracks deal. It's so easy to get lost on z way to Vulture Mines rd. But once there that area is infested with mines/mine shfts all over z place no wonder they called it Vulture MINES rd.
Bigbugburg spoted some havelina down in z bushes there was a bunch.

We did a little hiking to get to see these mine up close & personel.

Da bikes are down there ...

More pics coming up ...

Nice start. I'm really looking forward to getting back there someday. There's just something about playing in the snow in the morning and not having to worry about shoveling it away because it will be melted by 10 AM.

More please...

Looking east.

Bigbugburg watching havalinas cruising amoung bushes.

From z mines looking west.

Nice! I think Bigbugberg mentioned it somewhere previously but I don't remember... how many miles? ...and how much of that was slab?

NEVER MIND. Found some of the answer in the regional thread... 95 miles.

We started z next phase from z mines to Tonapah with a lot of improvising (what makes it more interesting) to track our way out .Leaving z mines. Ready to take off.

Looking south.

We hit a lot of washes i think we turn around here:

We took that wash south for ~2 miles

After we split, I went back under the I-10 and headed north to Aguila (35+ more miles of dirt). Got a rear flat somewhere along the dirt... That 908RR rear tire is a SERIOUS PIA to change in the field!!! Full sized tires irons are on my xmas list!

I have a whole bunch of trail mapped out there that is begging for exploration!

What was the mines name? No silver I know of mined there as a primary ore. Looked like the Tonapah/Belmont mines which are pretty dangerous to enter.
