did you primer that bad boy? or just spray on a few coats of paint?

I roughed the plastic up with some of the fine Scotch Brite, then wiped it down with denatured alcohol. Two coats of Fusion did the job.

I've since changed the fairing setup. Again. I'll try to get some shots of that this weekend. Promises, promises, right?

Promises delivered!

I've liked the KLR250 cowl/gauge setup since I put it on except for a few things: I like to use a universal windshield to keep the cold air off of my chest when I commute. Using the shield you see here with the 250 cowl made for an unsightly combination, and it allowed too much of the headlight to bleed up into my field of vision, which was really annoying when riding after dark.

The solution is what you see here. I bought a pair of universal headlight mounting ears from Dime City Cycles.

http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintag...-66-35830.html

They're very nicely made, cheap, and install pretty quickly. The headlight is from a UJM of some sort, and was acquired in a trade somewhere. Now I have no bleed in of the headlight, I get more light from the larger shell, and the windshield sits a bit lower than before and is fully adjustable, making things work better than they ever have on this bike. I get the wind pressure relieved from my chest, I stay warmer in Winter, I can see at night, and it looks a damned-sight better than the KLR250 setup did.

Win, win, win in my book!
