Eh?

my eyelids are sticky...

blah

blah blah

.. and in other news.. i hit a tree (not this one) that sent me into another tree (this one)

... now for the local news: if any of you guys have smaller woods bikes and have a raging hard on to attempt a truly difficult (i've seen grown men cry) dual sport/enduro ride, then come on down to the alabama woods. DO NOT RIDE THE SERTAO I've been leading this ride since 2009, i cut all the trails myself and do all the routing.

Battery

OK, I'm done with the POS stock battery. Today was the last straw!

What was the recommended upgrade? Where can I buy it?

Expedition Lugguge Rack

Anybody had any experience with Moose Racing's Expedition Luggage Rack System? (or the Outback luggage rack, apparently the same thing except $30 cheaper )

http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/m...gsf800gs-08-12 - Moose
https://tciproductsusa.com/index.php...roducts_id=771 - Outback

That'll probably be the only thing I buy for a little while. Otherwise, I'm working on a luggage mount for small stuff to replace the wind screen and a cover for the skid plate made out of a four-wheeler tire. I'll put up some pics if and when this stuff starts looking like actual parts.

I'm also speculating about how to make some wooden panniers that wouldn't just suck. I saw one guy that made a set and coated them in fiberglass...

Welp, took Serts to the car wash to blast the decals off and finally recreated my starting issue. The bike started fine at the house, but after getting to the car wash I shut it off and couldn't restart it. Temperature here is about 54*F and I rode it for about 10-15 minutes before I shut it down.

Called BMW Roadside Assistance and am waiting on someone to show up to tow it to Pittsburgh. Really not much of a bother as I needed to get it to the dealership to replace my tail light bracket that failed anyway. Plus, I ran in to the issue riding around town, and not in the middle of the trip I have planned this summer. I'll post more when I know more.

I got a Scorpion maintenanc free sealed battery from batterysplus in Oregon for I think $63 free shipping you'll find it for F650/G650GS
I wish I saved the link, but it's easy to find
Shorai's sound sexy but they're pricey and require their own (pricey charger) The only benefit I can find is weight savings, but who cares

It's the decomp issue It's posted to dealers as a service bulletin and will be covered under warranty

Yeah the stock battery is a POS! Get the $63 one and be done with it..

I was at Max BMW today most of the day while they addressed the decompression issue. Fixed! Did about 350 miles w/ stop and start to make sure it isn't happening anymore. Happy camper The Sert is TAT ready and so am I.

While waiting I was riding some demo bikes, 1200GSA nice but to heavy and to big. F800GS, very nice but still to heavy but I loved its performance on the street. Don't laugh but I really wanted to ride the new Scooter C600, it was fun and it's heated seat and grips made for a nice.

Swamp, that looks like a ballsy ride just like I like them. Digging your flyer who's art is that?

No pics of the Sert was to busy riding..

I want a full ride report of that scooter!

The 800 sure looks good on the showroom floor and carving slab corners, but I'll take the Rotax 650 anyday. Bullet proof and perfect power for tight back roads and real woods
