the problem i've found is that i need to be careful with tire sizes and chain length... you may have noticed the consequences of getting it wrong.
OK, now it makes sense. Consequences? Yea, so does it rub on the swing arm? Did you have to lengthen the stands as well? Does it lean even more on the side stand?

No reply?

the only connection/plug below the box in the center of my picture is on the right below the fuse box (it's black). I unplugged it and will now have a spot of tea..... and see

I was going through the gears on center stand after changing the shifter. The Speedo is definitely of the rear wheel. If you took off the ABS sensor, or some wiring to/from it, that could have caused your "no Speedo" situation. But you probably already knew it .

Alskee,

Unfortunately I can't help you with the screw size, but wanted to chime in anyway. Did you possibly consider the 2007 Dakar bars? I am looking at the fiche and most components that go on the bars have same part numbers (including the bark busters). The price is the same, the bars are black and have a cross brace. Don't really know if they are any stronger, but have a feeling that anything is stronger than that piece of pipe that we have. I am considering this as a future possibility.

Win,

I went for a much stronger MX bar via protaper. I'll let you how it goes with the install. The Handlebar bends on the new one are pretty much the same, not exact but close enough. Also they only cost me less than half the price of the stock BMW ones . Thanks..

Is it that black plug/connection the right one? I left it unplugged for the ole tea bag and then, like a dumb ass, I went out on the bicycle for 3hrs.
The only thing I found on the webster was that the connection I unplugged is called the tail section something or other? It's to the right of the box and below the fuse box
