[QUOTE=slider162;18304109]More fun today;) Just a couple of pics from the Cheese Country Trial here in WI. Totaled 70 miles today out and back on the trail. That plus another 120 round trip to get to the trial head. Almost 2000 miles on the bike so far. No problems with the suspension, even at 50MPH on this trail, which was pretty mild. I am in the process of gathering parts for the YZ fork conversion. Just ordered the conversion kit from Hawk.

Can you tell me more about that fork conversion? There seems to be a lot of talk about it.

I recommend led driving lights if you plan on running them with heated gear.

I found them used on Craigslist for a steal. They are the silver BMW cases. I sprayed them with the fake Rhino Liner from Auto Zone. A&S has what looks to be an updated case. They are expandable which basically doubles in size when expanded.

I'm still learning myself. More information than you would ever want to know over HERE.

Givi side racks will keep the soft bags off the exhaust and protect the bike in a fall. Almost forgot, they also hold Givi cases

I was going to buy the TT one but they were out of stock. I opted for the SWmototech one as they had it in stock. It has worked for me with no problem at all...

Waiting for my new Sertao to get to Fairbanks.

So I just put a thousand down on a new Sertao. They had one on the floor and while I was making my decision someone bought it!! So my bike is being shipped in from New Jersey. This will be my first dual sport bike, although I've been riding motorcycles in one form or another since I was 16. I started on dirtbikes and went to cruisers. After many years of admiring the BMW's I've finally made my move. Any Sertao owners have feedback on the bike I shouild know of? Any worthwhile performance upgrades and guards that I should purchase?

Congrats.

I've put about 500km (300miles) of mixed riding (dirt/slab/technical) on the bike and so far I've found that the only thing I can fault is the tires. Leave stock if you plan to ride more slab than offroad, otherwise a good dp tire would just compliment it offroad.

I would put some crash bars on it and a decent skidplate. If you got money left, thow on some bark busters and call it a day.

unless you are really tall and need a touring screen :P

Congrats again.

I have to agree about the tires. They suck for anything off of the beaten path. I went with the Michelin T63 front and back and have zero complaints. I can't speak for wear yet, but rumor has it they are good for at least 5,000 miles. I think the center stand is a must have upgrade, especially if space is limited in the garage. The bike just leans over too far on the kickstand. Beyond that, don't go crazy like I did.

If you have any plans to venture off pavement check out IRC GP1 tires. Excellent grip and handling on road yet still very good offroad. Will help you keep the rubber side down through mud and sand.
