heard rumors about some Duc lever,
but what I saw did not have the tab for brake light swith

next:
anybody put HIDs on their Sertao?
any probems to fit the more material (ballast, plugs, extra cable ...)
under the cowling?
high beam is OK, but low beam?

Likewise, alskee. I'll shoot you a PM if I find myself on the TAT around that time.

I thought about putting a HID on the bike after hitting a bear in the dark last year. I was told there isn't enough room in the housing to disipate the heat so there would be a chance of burning some plastic. Instead, I was told to look for LED lights and run them off the high beam switch. The newer LED lights are less than half the price of external HID lights, throw out as much focused light, and use very little power. Can't remember the make of the light but it was $179 CAD for two at Dual Sport Plus.

Bloody hell, I thought roo's and wombats were enough to worry about, at least they don't try to claw you to bits and eat you if you bump into one!

So one thing I absolutely hated about the bike is the skid plate, could it be any more of an eye sore to the overall look of the bike? So I don't have the cash for a new one so I decided to change mine up a bit. I bed lined the crap out of my Xterra a few years ago (wheels, bumpers, emblems) and it has held up great. I had a can for touch ups and decided I would give it the treatment.

Turned out better than I had imagined. I'll keep you posted how it holds up, I assume I'll be giving it a lot of touch ups, but I sure do think it looks so much better.

that looks so much better.

i took the heat gun to mine the other day and stripped all those ugly blue stickers off of it. also removed the orange reflectors off of the forks.
starting to look like my bike now.

took it out on a muddy pipeline the other day. did a few hill climbs.
fun bike. front forks are vague in the dirt. it did better than i expected it to.

i hate the ABS, im going to disable it.

ordered leo vince exhaust. removed stock exhaust which weighs as much as the rear wheel assembly. threw it in the trash.. its still there if anyone wants it

the bike looks better the dirtier it gets.

anyone know where i can get a funky emblem to replace the bmw emblems?

where in the hell is the charcoal canister ? i know it has one in there somewhere. i want to throw that in the trash too.

I only recall reading about an adjustable Duc lever that fit the older F650 Classics and STs. Not sure about the F and G GSs.

Wow, that actually looks really good! I picked up a TT skid plate and am really pleased with it. Protects a much larger area, thicker, and like you said, replaces the eyesore of a stock skid plate.

building something, waiting on parts

been ordering things off e-bay and generally just spending money on parts for this thing.

started putting it on a diet.

its on the stand waiting on the front and rear wheels to come back from Woody's

im about to take the forks off and remove the shit handle bars and the shit fake bark busters.

i replaced the car battery with a lighter option

while i was digging around i found that this piece of plastic will not allow full lock to lock steering. when the bars are turned fully to the left the piece of crap plastic pushes on the brake and ABS lines... not allowing full lock. . its going in the trash.
