barney the purple dinosaur, my R100gs

just picked up this r100gs, has jesse bags and rack, corbin seat (ultra comfortable), white brothers rear shock and a big brake rotor up front. otherwise, its pretty stock.

other than the purple, its awesome, but the purple is growing on me and its in pretty good shape, so im not going to mess with it

OK...did you buy it from the artist formally known as Prince or an old guy in an RV park?

It looks hideous, your gonna hear that a lot. One day it'll grow up to be a beautiful swan.......wait a minute it started out as a swan.

Sorry for the negatve comment but I just couldn't help myself. It looks like it was cared for. Hope you got a good price. Loud bikes save lives.....

Not uncommen for a bike of the beginning nienties I would say.

So very contemporary and well done in my eyes. As a trials rider
,not riding on street bikes, (last time I did ride a street bike was when
practicing for my driving licence), it reminds me to a Aprilla Climber:

Paint is cheap. But yeah the color is hideous. I walked away from an excellent mechanical condition R80 ST for sale that was purple. The pain in my eyeballs was severe but to this day I regret that decision. If the bike is in the condition you expect for your money get over the color. At least some fool didn't paint it with truck bedliner.

its a factory colour, and the bike was built by airhead #117 fred kumm.

it was worse, all the black bars were yellow, and the jesse bags were yellow, (the bike was on craigslist for a month and no one would buy it yellow, so the previous owner had the bars and bags painted black) the seat is going to get recovered, and the shock spring is going to stay yellow.

yeah, its pretty hideous, but its so hideous its cool.

Go Dawgs

But really a recovered seat, and repainted shock spring would pull that bike back from the 90's

showing my age and lack of kids. purple doesn't mean Barney to me, it has more of a "one eyed, one horned, flying purple people eater" look to me

I think you have a better deterrent to theft than any lock with that colour scheme, keep it that way and assert your individuality at the same time. It looks like a nice bike, good R100GS are getting harder to come by.
