Supposedly, their top choices are

1. chucky
2. charlie strong
3. Kirby Smart

Which is ironic considering Kirby Smart is basically a younger Derek Dooley.

Still can't figure out the fascination with Chucky. He's doesn't have a single day's experience as a head coach in the NCAA. How does anyone even know if he can even recruit worth a damn? He won a superbowl sure, but he was handed a team with all the talent in place and had two losing seasons after that. Why would he even make the step down to the collegiate level when he could easily get a job in the NFL?

His wife was a vol cheerleader, he has family in the area, he got his start at UT as a grad assistant. That's the argument for him coming to Tennessee.

A lot of speculation though that he's headed back to the NFL for another coaching job.

Why I Dislike Auburn

Here's some FB quotes from a local preacher who is an obnoxious Auburn fan;

"I'm telling you guys, the fix is in. NCAA and Vegas gamblers have put big money into seeing that Bama an Notre Dame meet up. K=State and Oregon never had a chance. The zebras are paid off big time. Lane Kiffen taking the bucs to make sure SC doesn't beat Notre Dame. Fishier than the Boston pier."

"Once those refs are paid... anything can happen. Coach will tell his boys.. "you can hold all you want to tonight. the refs aint gonna call it." Some refs became very rich today."

" But, I will be pulling for the SEC champion in the National Game. I don't believe that Notre Dame would even have a winning record in the SEC. There has been a lot of money invested to keep them winning. But Bama has a lot of money also and all I can say is that there will be some wealthy refs coming out of this game. I wonder what the outcome will be if Bama buys some of the refs and Notre Dame buys the rest. Could be interesting. Georgia does not have the cash of either Bama or Notre Dame."

Both schools have their fair share of idiot fans. One of the reasons I'm glad I live in New England, is I don't have to deal with the bickering from the fanbases, although I do miss living in North Alabama. ROLL TIDE. On a side note, I'm very tired of the Yankee bashing from the Red Sox fans, and it isn't even baseball season yet.

Actually, I'm pretty good. This thread was on life support before I started pokin' the SEC. And, one poster took a 2 week vacation because of me. Pretty good work for an old guy!

I'm fine with him staying at SC. It was his 'dream job.'

So Barkley is out against ND with a shoulder injury in the pic I posted earlier. Gotta wonder what this will cost him in terms of draft status. Sam Bradford did ok though, so hard to say.

Since the team is pretty demoralized, it looks like the Domers will complete the undefeated run.

Well, the "Bicycle" thread has over 26K posts and 2M+ views, so I guess it's all relative. You need people like me on that wall!

Not what I'm talking about. I don't see why people actually think he would be a great college coach. I know I don't want to see the Hogs take a chance on him.

ESPN pays Chucky $4.3 million to grin and chuckle 17 nights a year on MNF.
Why would he want a full time job coaching and recruiting?
And who in their right mind would hire him?
Besides Auburn.

Wow, I had no idea he made that much a year. Unless the guy is bored to tears with his current job, he is going nowhere.

The circle of pain: An ode to college football

This is a nice commentary on why college football is great. Give it a read.
