Go to SI's website. It is Thamel's article on the front page of the College Football section.

I'm a southern boy, but this year you can forget Alabama, Florida & Texas ..........Ohio is The State of College football.

Ohio State 10-0
Ohio 8-1
Bowling Green 6-3
Cincinnati 6-2
Toledo 8-1
Kent State 8-1
Miami 4-5

That's a combined record of 50-13 and some of the loses are to other Ohio teams. Impressive.

I still hate Ohio State, not because of Meyer but because of the smack talk in '06.

In more Lane Kiffen news

Does anyone believe that this was done without Kiffen's approval?

Quote:
A USC football student manager has been relieved of all duties with the Trojan football team for intentionally deflating, below NCAA-regulated levels, some game footballs used by USC's team during the first half in last Saturday's game against Oregon.

Game officials discovered and re-inflated three of the balls before the game and two others at halftime. All balls were regulation in the second half.

When informed of this allegation by the Pac-12, USC investigated it immediately. The student manager confirmed that he had, without the knowledge of, or instruction from, any USC student-athlete, coach, staff member or administrator, deflated those game balls after they had been tested and approved by officials prior to the game.

As a result, the Pac-12 reprimanded USC and imposed a fine.

Ha - didn't work - did it?

Have a hard time here - a student manager is about as low on the totem as it gets based upon my college football experience. Professional equipment manager I might believe.

USC dead ball-gate?

no.

there's no way a random college kid has the power to make that decision on his own. how does he know the offense even preferred them soft? just taking a flyer and hoping for the best? no way.

this was planned. probably by Saban trying to duck Oregon.

Giggle

Saban isn't afraid of Oregon. We've seen what a strong SEC team can do to the Ducks twice before:

LSU 42
Oregon 27

Auburn 22
Oregon 19

Alabama is stronger than Auburn or LSU. (As an Auburn grad, it hurts me to say that too. )

Not sure I get this joke. Saban and Kiffen are opposite ends of he coaching spectrum.
