I called them up on Saturday and asked them not to send me the refund check. I told her they can use the money to cover any sunk costs related to the canceled event. That's another way...

Or, if the check comes in the mail, stick it in an envelop and send it back, with an explanation note. That shouldn't screw up their bookkeeping....

Hey: The refund checks should go out this week, sorry for the delay, it's a lot of work.

FYI: Looking to reschedule for Nov 2012.

Thanks for your patience.

I was really hoping the spring ride would get rescheduled (in the spring/summer), but I guess we'll have to wait until the fall. Sorry that you guys (Jack and crew) spent all the time and effort on a ride that didn't happen.

I'm betting the majority would put the $$ toward the ride in November if that was an option.

Any option to forego refund and just call it a pre-pay for fall, or is this acounting nightmare?

I can tell you that yes... accounting nightmare. The people there will be people who hold the funds, but cancel later, and where was that money, oh, I sent it 9 months ago... Trust me, it's a mess.

Simplest is to just clear the books. Everyone refunded.

Hey: In the past, when I got the checks, I held them till just before the event, just in case something happened. I suggested to Cross Country to do the same. Now they have a lot of work, the checks have to printed from their accounting system, every check has to be entered in with name etc.

Also, we could not reschedule any time before the fall, most spring dates are taken, and we didn't know when the conditions in the woods would change. The summer has too many people in the woods and it's hot and dry.

Also the enviormental restrictions ease up later in the season.

Jack

if i want to ride this event as dual sport ride and i have a 690 vs a husky 250...what would people recommend....i would rate myself as a very slow enduro rider...and an average dual sport rider...

There's a lower CC limit... so you would have to ride the 690. The cutoff is around 600cc.
