Question Are You interested in Racing you ADV bike??

If your like me you like to twist it up on your big bike...
After talking with my friends Over at the Stumpjumpers MC, They have offered to let us race the Big Bikes in next years Desert 100..
We need at least 10 confirmed racers to open the class.
The class will be a single lap (50 or so miles) and open to bikes that are 651CC and larger. I"ll be on my 950
So the question is.. would you race your big bike and come join the fun!!
Pin it to win it!!!

oooohhhhh a 950/GS/Vstrom smackdown. Paging Southforkspeedster.....

And the BMW dakar & Xs, with 652cc, qualifies. As does the KLR. But no Wee-strom.

You bet..
The CC requirement was designed to keep bikes like an XR650 at 649CC out..
But all others are welcome...
Bring it on!!!

Was there a displacment restriction?

I didn't realize you couldn't race a a big boy bike in the D100. I guess it's just the CC class that must be new. Last year was my first D100 and it was a loooooong race for someone as slow as me. I'd love to see some big bikes out there, but lets be honest with our selves, were only talking about KTM's and XR650R's right? No body would try this on a V-strom or BMW 1250 GSA, would they? I think I'll stick to my 250 yamaha for this one

You can race any bike you want in the open class...we even had a guy out there on a modded H-D Sportster in the past!

Thought it might be fun to have an "Adventure" class but would need to keep the XR650R's out of it, hence the 651cc restriction. If there is enough interest out there we (SJMC) are all for it!

On a side note, this year we are going to have a "bikes only" camp area cordoned off right next to vendor row for those that are riding their bikes to the event. No boxes allowed in this camp area! Figured it would be a good way for the ADV folks to be able to hang/camp together with other like-minded enthusiasts.

Wish I were closer. The 690 would be perfect for this.

Thanks for chiming in WIZ.. The sportster is still one of the all time favorite bikes I have ever seen at the 100, Not that I want to ride it..
Looks like we all will be having a great time in the desert..

They need a "Muli Cylinder" class. ie 800, 950, 990, 1150. A 690 would smash on most anyone on a 950 in the D100. That said I'd be totally down to do it on my 950. But I'm leaving for Baja on April 20th and I can't afford to be replacing parts that close to leaving.
