It is a short two track ride to the walking trail which leads to an 1800 acre Carolina Bay. The tracks are hard packed and could easily be traveled on any bike when dry. Be careful with short travel suspensions, there are several serious dips in the road.

You are very kind. Have you checked out the Georgia tag game? Also, though not very active, there is also the coastal empire tag. Welcome to GA! I'm homeward bound from San Antonio area on my KLR. 348 miles today in strong gusty cross winds. Currently in Laurel MS. Maybe meet up for lunch sometime.

From Savannah I would make my way on back roads to Clyo. Get something to eat at the store (there's only one). Cross the river and take the first left to Stokes Landing. Right on Old Orangeburg Road to Old Stagecoach Rd making your way north on dirt and paved roads to US 301.. Plenty of dirt sideroads to explore. Left on 301 back into Georgia left on Old River Road about half mile past welcome center. Old River is dirt for about 9 miles. The dirt roads to the left enter Tuckahoe WMA (14,000 acres). Some of the WMA roads are well maintained others are not. It is a magnificent place from upland pines to cypress swamps. There are some boat landings with good views of creeks and Savannah river. After the storm that we are currently experiencing, the less used roads will have some very muddy sections. Make your way to Brannens Bridge road then to Georgia 24 to GA 21 south to Savannah. Have a fun adventure, I'll be out of town or I'd try to meet up. There are many miles of dirt roads in Screven, Burke and Bulloch Counties and generally the more rural areas inland.

I will indeed give it a shot. Thanks for the advice. I'll match it up with the map and see what happens. Staying at the KOA in Savannah which looks pretty nice. Thanks again.

So, how was your trip, both the riding and camping?
