Exhaust options R100GSPD

After living with my Staintune exhaust on my 90 GSPD and dealing with either the whistling with the plug in it or the back firing with out it, I have decided to move on with a new exhaust.

I have tried different jets in my 32 Bings to get rid of the back firing and have never figured it out. The funny thing is that when I put the restrictive plug in, the back firing stops. Then you get a sort of whistle when you roll of your throttle.

Mark from FL has the same system and has also been trying to overcome the whistling exhaust on his ST.

My buddy has the same bike with a Supertrapp header and x-over with a staintune canister from an 1150gs that he welded up and sounds great. There is no back firing or any whistling out of his exhaust.

So any how, I have thrown in the towel and am looking for another system to put on the bike. Yes I have the stock system and it is in great condition, so why change it? Have you seen my Bike!! I am a farkle Queen and I NEED IT!!!.

Here is what I have so far.

Zach muffler

Or what I am leaning towards since it is a complete system

At this stage in my riding life, I'd not consider an aftermarket exhaust unless it offered considerable performance if it looked ugly. I think Staintunes look nice.

I thought the German systems had some TU (or something) requirement for being really quiet... I wouldn't go that route without getting a sound clip from someone.

so a year and a bit later still like the exhaust ? in a similar boat I am using the nicer y pipe with the stock box .Did the muffler meet your expectations.I have been pondering using a used muffler from a an 1150gs. What jetting changes did you have to preform ? I have been thinking 50 idle jet 145 mains .I have been coached that this wont fix it or will it ? that the needle jet should be 2.68 Stock is 45 135 2.66 your thoughts Cigars can you go out and measure the muffler for me need length and diameter please
