Thanks for this great report VietHorse! Motorcycles, good friends, good food, a nice place to hang out -- hard to beat that. Nice pics too.
I've been to VietNam a few times now --even went to Dalat very briefly on my way to Nha Trang --but I haven't gotten a chance to ride there at all. I'm hopefully heading back in July and may try for a ride then. My buddy did a guided tour with Easy Riders from HCMC up to Hue and had a great time. I will be Hanoi and then Vinh. Do you think a ride along the coast from Vinh to Hue would be fun/interesting? Porrick |

Wish I had mine there...
Very nice! I really liked Dalat when I went through there on a Honda Bonus 125 cc :) I actually had my engine rebuilt there by the easy riders Bonus master. The whole time I was riding in Vietnam I wish I had my sweet VFR so I'm pretty jealous that you get to ride there AND on a sweet bike. It was still an incredible experience, but I really missed the VFR

July may be a good time for riding up north of Vietnam as there are not much rain, however, it's a bit hot. The coastal road from Vinh to Hue is not very much nice. That road is not really a coastal road as most of them are inland (I meant you could not see the sea from road). If really like to ride on coastal road, recommendation is from Hue to DaNang or the best would be from Nha Trang up to shouthern of Vietnam, i.e to Vung Tau. Quote:
Bonus is one of quite common bike for rent on highland area of Vietnam. Is this you with the Bonus?? If you travel northen of Vietnam, you 'll see lots of Minsk - a Russian made motorcycle - very robust and realiable. ![]() Thanks for your comments. Looking for the next trip...
Done the group photo, we took a ride around Xuan Huong Lake - the lung and the heart of Dalat City - to say goodbye to the beautiful place:
![]() On the way back Ho Chi Minh City, we met our friend from HCMC to join us. It was so pitty to him that he was hanging around with other business so could not be able to join with us from trip beginning: ![]() A place to rest ourselves and our bike: ![]() ![]() Belows are some snapshots on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, just to show you guys how Vietnamese roads look like: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dalat is very famous with flowers, vegetables and also strawberry. This fellow bought some kilos of fresh strawberry for his wife. Gud man: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is end of my trip report. Hope you all enjoy with the beautiful and peaceful Vietnamese scenes. It's our pleasure to have you visiting Vietnam. Ride safe, guys. |

Enjoyed your sharing this ride very much. I remember the rice and barley on the roads in Korea, but the coffee had me stumped. Westminster CA? I graduated from Westminster High back in '69. Thanks for taking the time to post here.

If so, respect

Thanks guys.
We did cross the bridges sometimes. And my friend who lives there get his Honda RC51 in and out across the bridge daily.
