y'all mind if i ask what you paid for the 6 pot tokico's? I can't find anything for less than $60 shipped. That's pretty steep compared with solo's. i''ve looked at all the references and cross referenced the pads and feel i have come up with a fairly complete search... I'm kinda sick of looking, and I KNOW the missus is sick of me taking up the computer... so, just to prove that we are the most penny tech sob's here, hook a brutha up!

I think it is just luck to pick up a cheap set.
I paid $19.95 + postage for mine from US Ebay. Either Kawasaki, or Suzuki use them.

Thank you for pointing that out, but here is where things get complicated. I found a couple that are like that for a reasonable price. However! they don't take the same brake pad as the hayabusa/zx9r or the gsxr calipers you all see to have. If we are talking EBC, the one you pointed out takes FA158 whereas all the ones that have been mentioned here take FA188.
Is the consesus that all tokico 6 pots of this shape will work?

R100GS Tokico brake upgrade
I'm making the upgrade to the Tokico 6 piston caliper on my 1988 R100GS. I'm at the stage of plumbing it and wonder about the use of a single SS line from the master cylinder. Wouldn't the easier path be to simply change out the solid steel line that runs from the Brembo caliper up to the flexible line on the fork slider? As you might guess, I already have a SS line (and an OEM 15mm master cylinder) that I'd just as soon retain. TIA for recommendations/ideas.

No problem with doing it that way- my caliper came with the short hose attached and it fitted straight on to my existing braided line.
However , I decided that a one piece braided line would be better , and changed to one. Cant tell the difference. If you have one caliper you want a smaller m/c than 15 mm - the smaller the better. Ducati fitted a 11 mm m/c with two similar Brembo calipers with no problems so it should work fine for you with one . Most brake shops will be able to sleeve your existing cylinder down to whatever you want, or look out for a 12mm on ebay.

how about these...
Anybody try a 4 pot Tokico? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280297007239
SOLO's observations seem to open up all sorts of possibilities? I had my heart set on 4 pots b/c I didn't want to scare myself with unexpected lock ups! But... there seems to be way more 6 pots on ebay... any reason why these wouldn't work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1562 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_1598wt_1547 Hopefully we don't bid each other up on this stuff :) Cheers! I think the 4pot Tokico has different piston sizes to the Nissin 4pot.
Not sure what difference that would make though. I have the 6pot Tokico on my GSPD

I thought the 4-pot had more "feel" when breaking, and was very strong.. the 6-pot was definately stronger, but with less feel.....
I would choose the 4-pot myself, unless I did mostly slab two-up.

95% of my riding is slab. I dont have an issue with the 6pot, although I rode one with a 4pot yesterday, and it certainly did the job, just needed a bit more "hand"
I am looking at a bigger disc, and then may go back to a 4pot. Which ever you use, it will be an improvement on original

Thanks for the help! I bought a full front Nissin brake set up (both calipers, hoses, and master cylinder) off a 1998 Suzuki Bandit on fleabay for $20 and HPM Guy's adapter is on the way! Now I just need to sort out a hose. I already have a SS speigler line. I can't decide on just going to a brake shop and getting them to make a new metal line to mate with the new caliper or just to go and buy a whole new line? Probably go with new line if for no other reason than it looks cooler
