I have installed and love the 6 pot Tokico caliper on my GS. I put Galfer Black pads on (as opposed to Green) to get a longer life out of the pads.

The pads worked well but work out quickly and I want something that will last longer. Anybody have knowledge about the EBC FA188 HH pads? The FA188 (without the HH) have been mentioned in this thread before but not the HH pads. Are they too tough on the rotors? Do they stop well?

Some of my friends call me a heavy late braker but I really don't think I am. It is where I make time on my faster friends. Especially up hill where two or three times less power really shows up. I have just recently gone through two sets of EBC organic pads before I toasted a rotor. Just last year was the first time since my very first set of pads decades ago that I wore out a pair of organic pads before I toasted a rotor. Usually I get a pulsing rotor before they have gone through one set of "faster wearing" organic pads. That's the main reason why I use EBC organic pads. They are way easier on the rotors than sintered pads and work just as well from what I can tell. When I use sintered pads they eat up my rotors big time. The rotors are grooved way deep before the first set of pads are gone.

I am having trouble finding brake pads for my nissin caliper, that are thin enough. The new pads I tried don't leave enough room for the disk. The calipers are for my R80GS Basic. What do you guys use?

Whatever I listed in this thread worked fine for me with my stock disc, most likely Galfer Green's

Want much more braking on that BMW R100GS? This is one of the best bolt on upgrades!
Feast your eyes on an excellent condition, left/front six-pot brake caliper that came from a 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa GSXR.
Caliper has been recently rebuilt with new seals & pucks and Galfer Green brake pads. (I'll include the stock OEM Suzuki pads too)

Also included in this deal is the adaptor made from HPMGuy

The idea came from there, but a local ADVR'r here in the US made a very rough copy, passed the dim's to another ADVR who made the technical drawing linked
