A happy ending indeed. Lonnie and I were able to resolve our differences. I just bought the bike from him and made a deposit. It's my Christmas present to myself. Balance of the $$ is going into the mail tomorrow.

God knows he'll be doing something, and we know it will be well documented and informative. I, too, am looking forward to his new project.

Happy ending indeed - glad you guys worked it out Tom. Next time I come down to your place I'd love to see it, it looks like a good one.

Got the bike today. Left the house this morning at 3:40 AM for the 620 mile (one way) trip to Salt Lake. Got there by 1 PM. The bike looked great. Loaded the bike onto the trailer with Lonnie's help and put the bags, seat, spare parts, records, etc.. into the back of the 4Runner and hit the road at 2:15. Walked in the door at home at 10:15 PM. Long day and 1240 miles in one long day was about 500 too much. I don't know how truck drivers do it. Speed limit for 95% of the way was 75 so just set the cruise on 79-80 and turned on the XM radio.

With it being winter in the Rockies and good weather for two days I didn't want to take a chance and leave the bike there for a few more weeks; that would guarantee it would snow every weekend until May. Now I have the raw material for another project.

So the bike is in the garage and I'm off to bed.

I can't decide whether to cry, make a smart ass comment, squeal with excitement, or vomit.

But it is nice to see everyone playing nicely in the sandbox again.

PS - Congrats on the new ride! Welcome back to Airhead ownership! And let the fixing/rebuilding/problem solving/ and cursing begin!
