Later

Maybe that will happen some day! I will be back up to Alaska next year.

You see the reddish color on the ends of the spikes, when you see a bunch of them under good light, they seem to have a red/pink glow.

A mini Copper Canyon.

The road turned to gravel here.

At steep sections and in some curves, there would be concrete. The gravel was usually better.

Next question, where was the turn off to the ruins? I am headed down to baja with some friends in a couple of weeks, would be cool to check out.

About 20 to 30 miles south of Vizcaino Turn east off the main road. There is a sign. I followed the road about 60 miles till it was just a trail in the outback. I turned around at a group of four or five Indian houses. The trail got very difficult further east. I rode several places that had a dead end, in a couple of cases there was supposed to be a loop coming out a different way, but I could not find it. This dead end road is definitely one that I will do again!
