Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow. Would like to get out. I'll try to send a private message before noon. Be fun to ride with you if it works out.

Have fun and be safe out there guys!

I've decided I will try to visit and photo the county courthouse in every county in Indiana this year via VStrom. I know at least one county - Marion, has a boring somewhat modern "county building" vs. a neat old courthouse.

Guess we'll find out what the others have starting tomorrow!

Substitute the Capitol building instead of the county courthouse! That one has some character.

Are you just starting the project?

In Delphi, there's a neat park that is all about the old Erie canal, parts of which are still extant there. There's also the town of Battleground, which was, surprise, a civil war battleground. Delphi has a restaurant run by Amish folk, the Tippecanoe and Wabash rivers come together, and the Deer Creek waterfall is just south of town.

However, just be sure you actually go into the courthouse in Delphi if at all possible. The outside is kind of neat, but the inside still looks like it did in the 1930s when it was built. All terrazzo, dark wood, and art deco.

Oh! And there's the opera house, if the tours are running. The poet James Whitcomb Riley is from the area, and he gave readings at the opera house back in the day.

Some great suggestions! I've been wanting to explore along the Wabash River. Suspect there are some great places for photos waiting out there.

Brian? Jay?

Very nice riding with you today !! Gravel roads, getting lost and low fuel :) Good day indeed, can't wait to go on more rides.

But! after we parted ways I went to go look for the bridge and 4 hrs later I still couldn't find it :(. I was DEEP into those back roads. Sooo many gravel roads and lots of pot holes. I found my self in Filmore when I was heading to Greencastle took 1 road west and I was in Bainbride some how!. Saw 231 and took it back to Greencastle but still no bridge after riding around for awhile. I think its a secret road!

Made me laugh! I had a great time today as well. Look forward to more searching for graveyards with you

As for the bridge...man, I wish I could help you figure out where it is. All I know is that I came into Greencastle, turned right at the light and took a fairly unused looking road. There it was! The mysterious bridge! Maybe it only appears once every one hundred years. Pretty sure I couldn't locate it again.

Good day getting to meet jdfog2 and then wandering around. The DR650 was definitely a better tool for the roads we found today!

Joel,

I AM definitely in!
Gotta schedule it ... when are you thinking?

Found out today it takes more time...a lot more time than I counted on...to actually stop and take photos. I didn't complete my entire route today but it was a lot of fun!

Met a couple of pretty nice fellas at my first stop so today was a big WIN!

I'll be posting pics and stuff later

Jay

Schedule depends on you guys more than me. I'm on vacation in CA starting the last week of July, have a meeting or two (day or so only) at some point, otherwise--just kicking around to a large degree.

Really enjoyed talking with you this morning. Glad to see you arrived home safely. Thought you'd have to be flying low to accomplish your list of photo ops today , but hey, I don't know how far you twist your wrist.

Took Brian on a fruitless search for an old graveyard northwest of North Salem. Been there before and spotted a tombstone marked "Buffalo Soldier" and wanted a couple of shots of it.
