Hi Guy. It really isn't on the money. 130 degree lens really isn't wide angle and you'd really want a camera with 720 (HD) at 60 frames per second for motorsport (fast.) I picked up a Contour HD 1080 for $175. Not that much more and ticks all the boxes for motorsport. Have it out in the water too (with the $40 case) when i'm kitesurfing. Great footage and great quality kit FWIW. Go Pro and Drift are oother options but are more $$$.

Hey guy,
most people go for the GoPro camera which is also HD. Aesthetically, I'm more of a fan of the Contour but the GoPro is better built and picks up sound and video much clearer. Their not the prettiest looking cameras, but they are worth the extra money. We took one on a ski trip last year and we're all amazed that it still runs after the punishment we put it through

Got mine on run out from Torpedo7 when the Contour HD was replaced by the new Contour Roam model. Get my Pirelli tyres there too (and Jasons
,) only $8 delivery for 4 rear tyres and only $72 each if I recall.Friends of mine have the Gopro, but for watersports it doesn't float and it was way more $$ than the Contour. The Contour as has the laser line up function which means setting up the camera on anything is a cinch. Those features swayed me.

I have an earlier generation of this. Works very well. Simple. Does what it says. Sturdy and should survive severe abuse. If the back cover is opened for wiring, it may be vulnerable to water. Picture is excellent. Night operation suffered reflections from the uncoated cover glass. The software didn't automatically adjust night vision, but the hardware appears very capable of low noise, low light recording. Audio picks up wind noise pretty bad.

drift x170 for $150. it's not bad. 720@60fps. lcd screen for setting up and checking what you've shot, water resistant.
cheap, tough little unit. the drift X170 Stealth is around $250. full 1080p HD, or 720@60fps. lithiium ion battery gives 2.5 hours. long life battery gives 4 hours and cost about $40. waterproof case is cheap and light. the whole thing is pretty aero and really easy to use. i've got both. use the x170 for rear facing frame mounts, use the stealth for goggle and helmet mounts. i have driftHD as well which is a full HDMI setup but they cost about $380. give them a look. mine have been bullet proof so far.
