Yeah, what DRZTHD25 said! We sould put together a meeting place somewhere downtown before we cross the bridge for now and who ever wants to join us for the ride up to Paoli would be welcome! Any ideas for easy access to the second street bridge where we could gather?

Well I am gonna take the weekend off and bring the Versys out for the first big run on it. Hopefully I won't be the only guy with more of a street bike. I hope I don't get picked on too much, or do I?

Yes and we both have the fastest color. Can't wait to meet everyone and do a little hanging out. I hope its in the mid 50s that weekend that would be awesome.

Maybe I missed it, but has the meetup point in paoli been picked. If I decide to go, I will meet up in paoli since I live between scottsburg and Salem.

I believe mbabc said something about a Huck's Convenience Mart west of Paoli for a starting point. One of his buddies did the Indiana section of the route and it's supposedly all paved but anyone who's ridden down in the Orange/Crawford/Harrison Co. area knows there are some awesome alternate gravel backroads and at least one place to seriously get your feet wet--or get swept into the Ohio River.

Motels are pretty much an individual preference thing. When I traveled a lot I always looked for the cheapest one I could find as all I needed was a place to lie down for a few hours, a hot shower and a reasonably warm or cool room. That was twenty to thirty years ago, though before the whole industry seemed to take a giant dump on itself. Now with bedbugs a real threat (even in nice places--just ask my sister the yuppie, who stays only in Marriotts) and horror stories of used needles in beds I'm afraid to stay anywhere.
Glad to hear you had a good experience at the Wigwam, though. I'd hate to see the place close due to poor management. It's a real piece of Americana and a link to a time when motels had real character instead of the bland, cookie-cutter interstate stops we have today.

Somebody with the knowledge of how to do it please post up a picture of that water crossing near New Amsterdam we went across on our abortive trip to the BMW of Louisville Open House a few years back--just so everyone can see what I'm speaking of. Thanks!!! (I think these pictures are on page 950 of the Indiana Ride Thread--I'm at work and the pictures are blocked so I don't know for sure.)
