Awesome live TV. Happy New Year all you Aussies out there (and everybody else). My daughter majors in Spanish at Ohio State so she is helping me translate some of the coverage. She has to go back to school Monday then it's all F5.

Good stuff, thanks and keep it coming.

I guess if I'm going to become a serious F5 contender, then I better learn Spanish!

Yeah, Bill was saying that the video footage of the start is all ceremonial on the 31st, since the real start is much harder to watch taking place in the wee dark of the morning. Most Argentines will be sleeping the party off

Don't worry there are quite a few of us who speak Spanish here, and anyway when the race starts the footage is what is important because you will get more here.

It was a great interview actually, they were talking about the kit and the experience, how to mentally prepare yourself, how much water and when to drink etc. They also gave a run down on that CRF they had in the studio.

Attention all team personnel

In the last years we had access to the daily time cards with and route descriptions/start times/SS lengths etc. I can't find anything like that this year and there's nothing in the competitors zone on dakar.com

If anyone has these files in digital form, it would be great if you could post them here or send me a PM.

Thanks a bunch!

"Uno guacamole taco y dos cervezas, por favor" is about the extent of mine so I just look at the pretty pictures.

And speaking of food and pretty pictures, are we gonna have Inez empanadas this year?

Hi firehose drinkers!

First, as someone who has avidly followed this thread in years past, let me say this damn thing seems at least as cool in person than it does electronically. It's an incredible scale, it makes Baja or Nevada look like a 1 ring circus.

Going through tech yesterday, I was surrounded by people I've heard about and seen for years, had posters of on the garage wall, and they were all really nice folks. Pretty cool! As many of you know, Jonah is a super nice guy in person, Quinn Cody was really pleasant and easy-going (and helpful) as well. I think a race like this attracts people who are pretty right in the head, present company excluded.

Today is a briefing, photo, and parade lap, I'm going to ride across the podium like a rock star, then its on to the race. I can't frickin' wait to ride my motorcycle, I haven't been off one for this long in a while.

Thanks, everyone, and happy Dakar-F5ing!
