and so true someone somewhere has a nice rear deck lid +/- few minor scratches I loved it and the drama and the intensity of the spectator footage in a compilation like that is simply awesome cannot wait to see this team next year their own coverage of the dakar this year deserves a major thumbs up the speed team really up the ante only team orlen even came close + I love it when a dakar thread just refuses to go quietly!

DP honestly, your video shows way better why RG is loved by the fans... He drives with true passion and all out, let alone the off special treats, he is beneficial to the race.
His suspension is the cat's pajamas though, amazing performance by all accounts..

Dread Pendragon, thats one of the best compilations I have seen in a long time - I loved it
![]() By the way there was a lot of swearing and cussing in the videos in the second half - very typical of a bunch of rally nuts realizing how fast that car goes. I can understand it too, because by then the crowd have been standing in the sun watching tons of bikes come past, which, while it is great for the likes of you and me - gets a little boring after a while. They all look the same or similar and they all ride the same or similar, so there was a lot of excitement when the came. The minis were often first at the points we were at, and after the initial screams of "Mini! Mini! Mini!", the cries of joy and excitement die quickly because they run so quiet and, truth be told aren't very exciting. But when the hummer and Toyota, the collective intelligence of the crowd went out the door as everyone went absolutely ape. I have to admit we also got caught up with it.

Perhaps starting out as a water carrier for the top riders?

Hopefully not. While it is a great program that ensures the multiple winners stay on the top, it would be nice to let every one of their riders a kick at the can, or at least until someone drops out of real contention, then picks up the support role for the ones that have a chance.

We'll see, but I am not so sure. I believe one of the main reasons that Johnny Aubert, Felipe Zanol, and Mohammed Balooshi were there in semi-work capacity was because KTM is grooming or evaluating the next leaders. Both Coma and Despres have little left to prove in bikes and are reaching the age where a switch to cars makes sense a la Peterhansel, Nani Roma, Alfie Cox, etc...
Really the only thing left would be to go after Peterhansel's 6 win on a bike record, but that would be tough for either Coma or Despres. It was interesting that both mentioned vague references to cars in a few post race interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if they do make the move to 4 wheels, that they both do at the same time. They are aliens because they have each other off of which to feed. Alone they may not be as fast or infallible. Perhaps Quinn Cody could be drafted in, he's obviously fast and consistent, but he seems to be doing a bit to squash the KTM rumors (albeit not flat out denying them).

Haven't both Marc & Cyril signed contracts to race with KTM up until 2014?
I remember a 2 year extension deal before the Dakar started.... And what happens to Faria / Pedrero: Wouldn't they be the natural successors if the top dogs traded in their Selle della Valle's for bucket seats and harnesses? Saying that, it would be awesome to see Quinn on a full factory supported 450RR
