I'm pretty happy with mine, and have put about 2000 miles on it this year with just oil changes. (2002 520 EXC, did some reliability updates when I got it) I used to be an XR/DR/etc guy, but don't plan on going back. Depends or your riding style though, whether it's worth it; I like to wind it out sometimes. You definitely want the EXC / XCW transmission for dual sport though.

I see why it would be nice to have a limited plate, jeez I mean FS roads quads are illegal. but, it does seem a real high amount of quad riders, ride shit faced ( or ride like they are, totally on edge) so the WSP has a real point.
the $1million figure, I'd like to see data to back that, if true, a house cleaning is in order. Ive been on fatalities via Fire Dept Volunteer, the avg. come on. if going to court, law suits, accident reconstruction they are probably on target but not on avg.

I'm not a big fan of Ride Motorsports because of bait and switch craigslist adds, but they're selling a 2011 wr450f with a dual sport kit new as street legal. I like it! Make mine a 2012 please

To be legal, any conversions of brand new vehicles done persuant to the new law would have to comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards 49CFR571 as applied per 49USC30112 and RCW46.61.705

Maybe they have plated it via another process or . . . .

I just looked at my pig's service record last night... in 10 months Ive put just shy of 10,000 mi on it... probably a good 1,500 of dirt miles on the 250.. maybe I should keep the XRs

Why not get a real BRP, the XR650R?! They'll run 50k and leave your Ladies version for dead. You gotta kick, though.
