Sounds like a possible start! I'm busy tomorrow night, and will be flying to Vegas the following Friday, so it might be a few weeks before I can crash your party. You guys get all those awkward introductions and stuff outta the way and I'll come along later as the new guy .

The wife and I are headed to Vegas for my work but we are going down a day early to take in the big mid-America motorcycle auction and then attend the Gene Romero west-coast flat track races .

Kick-off Complete

Five of us showed up in the snow for our 1st C.O. meet up. Glad I didn't let the teenager have the car! It would have been a nasty ride home.

Turns out the Red Dog Depot has doggy pictures all over the walls;as my pictures wouldn't copy over from my phone (operator error, no doubt), you'll just have to visit to see them. The food is good here, and it wasn't so noisy you couldn't talk.

Anyway, thanks for not making me eat by myself.

See you again, soon, I hope.

Kim

Thanks for kicking this over top dead center Kim. Nice to meet everyone and we had a good time. Glad you all made it home okay. Wise move on the car Kim. Looking forward to the next one.

Red Dog and ADV folks seems like a good paring! Nice work.

Uh oh, doggie pic talk....who knows where that could lead : D

I'm very happy this CO meet up got going. I made my 1st PDX meet up last night and met many wonderful new folks! Man they stay up late. Not sure where Zac was(?) Now I can start making my work travel schedule fit the ADV meet up schedule.

If Wibby started a Medford meet up on Tue I could hit 4 (safety) meetings per week.

Gotta be careful about calling too many "safety" meetings. I won't tell, though.

I'll be out of town next Friday, too. We talked last night about changing the location around, so that we can make it easier for everyone living up and down 97. Someone suggested the Platypus Pub in Bend, at the old Ernesto's location. Anyone have the 411 on that? Big Spag didn't like the food last time he was there. 10 Barrel has good food and beer. Any other ideas? I'm up for hosting a BBQ once the weather warms.

The wife and I tried Platypus a few weeks ago - not bad if your idea of a good time is paying for crappy food and warm beer. I won't be back anytime soon and predict their demise within a year or two .

10 barrel is good, as is Brother John's (next door to 10 bbl).

Ride Today, Sunday

Tony and I are headed out this morning around 11 for a quick trip. We'll head to Section 4 of the OBDR just outside of Sisters, making our way to Culver, and back home to Bend. If anyone wants to join us, meet at the Starbucks at the north of Bend (the one by JCPenney's) at 11. If you're not there by 11:15, we're hitting the road.

We'll be on the 1200 and 650. This route is easy dirt, gravel, and pavement.

Pics from Sunday's Ride

Big Spag and I were on our own. Pulled out of Starbucks about 11:30, headed for Sisters. Rode just under a hundred miles. The weather was great. I can hardly believe it's January! Just a little ice and mud on Steven's Creek Road so no problems. Lake Billy Chinook looked beautiful from the top. Hope to provide a little more notice next time so we'll have some company.

Here's a link to the pics on my smugmug page.
