How about putting a magnet on the end of the dipstick? Just saw this one, replace the aluminium rod with a stainless steel one, and magnetize it.

ZipTy sells a magnetic drain plug kit for the LC8.

The sump plug and filter housing plug would likely be sufficient to catch anything in lieu of the oil tank plug.
