Job opening: Need C-loop organizer.
Awesome routes have been laid out. We just need someone to organize/perform the pre-ride to verify the course(s) before the event. They would also be responsible for proofing route sheets and/or organizing ride leaders/sweepers. PM if you think you can help. FRR is looking for someone within their group.

ME THREE !! Just signed up!I think FRR should have provided an incentive on the info page to reward early signups, like t-shirt only provided if you sign-up by July XX.... Simply to get people to sign up and help out the organizers. All you other procrastinators get signed up NOW and support this local NoCo event! We need to keep this ball rolling, organized dual sport rides in our area are rare! -matt

Just got a member of the Dakota Dual Sport Riders to register. I ride with them in the Black Hills and am trying to get more of them sign up. On a ride with them in Nemo 2 years ago we coincidentally stayed at the same place as the national Tucker Rocky dealers group, and I got to meet Malcom Smith!
OMG!Keep the momentum going, let's keep this growing so it is sustainable. "Do it for the children!"

Routes to Walden
Looking at the Canyon Lakes district Road Status:
For dual sport routes to Walden, I assume Old Flowers Road and Monument Gulch will remain closed. Other routes appear to be Buckhorn and Pennock Pass to Pinegree Park are open, then Rustic to Red Feather, and it appears Deadman Road all the way to Laramie River Road is open. From there, well... on the return trip home from the Moose Run last year I went solo to the Sand dunes across the creek and up the powerline hill to the top, then east arriving at the Laramie River road at Hohnholz Lakes road. As I was going up the powerline hill with vise grips on where my gear shift lever used to be I was questioning my sanity for a bit. This year I have another rider coming along with me at least. ![]() Anyhow I figure I can do the reverse route from Laramie River road to Hohnholz Lakes road and wind my way to the Sand dunes powerline hill, I guess it is called North Sand Dunes Road. The water crossing at the dunes was not deep last year (when everything else was flooding), so this year should be easy. Getting across the dunes at a slight uphill with 50/50 tires may be the trickiest part, but I think if I stay west I can avoid most of the soft sand. Don't know this area - any other suggested routes from Laramie River road around the north end to Walden? This is on 650's adventure bikes, not plated dirt bikes, will full camping gear on. I guess there is also the Mendenhall track instead of the North Sand Dunes Road, don't know which one is easier. Also does anybody know where the open/closed status of Hohnholz and North Sand Dunes roads is shown?

There any chance at getting advance release of GPS tracks or maps of the routes before hand? Even if I have to create them myself, I would love to have this preloaded in my GPS if at all possible.
Unless there's some double top secret security reason or a need to keep it a surprise. Don't want to be out of line :)

A bunch of us are going up this weekend to pre-run the routes. We'll be doing a final trail clearing, and proofing all the GIS routes, maps, and route sheets. More eyes & wheels proofing the routes are always appreciated.
