Thank you for the kind words. I wouldn't mind running the trail in a covered wagon someday. The markers are all over the place, some describe sad stories, some about tough times, all are interesting. I am glad they are there.

Hi PinkPillion, just recently read your DV report and will be doing some of the same roads you traveled through there at the end of the month. This is another great RR and may put this one down on the list of future rides. What GPS are you guys using and did all the trail/roads appear in the book you mentioned? Thanks.

Hi HONFAR. We are using a Garmin GPSMap 60 CSx. It has a cool back light, which was helpful in navigating through the dark. The book map cut off before High Rock Canyon and was not super detailed. But I liked the map because it noted things like where to find rocks like obsidian, Apache tears, opal, etc. Enjoy DV.

Nice ride and report,and yes we have had it good this winter for riding compared to last years winter. About this time

last year I'm sure your driveway was buried in snow like ours. It's been like spring time around here most of this

winter so far, but conditions can change fast so enjoy it while you can.

Thank you Hogslayer. No snow up here at all, it is very strange. Mt. Lassen has free admission this weekend, usually a bike wouldn't be anywhere near that mountain in January. I am sure someone will give it a go this year.
