Texas to Phoenix run (aka Leg 3 of trip)

well well.....hello again all...just returned froma great weekend run from Dallas area (to pick up my new GS fron Ranchonodinero)...then blasted that to San Anotonio to meet up with my bros that were flying in to hop on the 2 KLRs we left there from leg 2 of the honduras to Texas trip a month ago see that thread here ( http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72219 )

anyway let;s get this started......here is MArty being a bit sad as his GS is leaving to me...but in good hands and ready to get wrung out...




Marty is a nice guy and has a nice life in FT Worth area...but is commotting to riding more with his family on dirt....good on ya...thanx again for your grasciousness

so I run the GS solo to San Antonio to meet up the next day with my bros....

thinking of all of you in here that have been helpful and inspiring I shot the following photos on the off the beaten path run ...happy and loving the GS ....a new ride for me....but finally I get it....


and I know this GS sucks Nacthflug...so WTF ever...



a salute to y'all ......doin my part to fit on....being the conformist I am



so I roll into downtown San Antonio.....lookign for a spot to stay...and full up everywhere due to some dumb arse Car wash convention...WTF?...LOL...so I see the big friggin deal Alamo thing and stop to snap a photo....."hey buddy, you can't park there!.."....Oh Ok...get out of the shot bicycle copper..tally ho


so the 2 KLR's needed some basic work.....like new chains and sprockets and valve work etc....a month ago I dumped them off at Alamo Cycle Plex....well sorry dudes you had your shot and BLEW IT!.....after numerous phone calls over the last few weeks to confirm the KLRs will be ready when I arrive....Tada!....NOT!....after sturggling the have them get the head out of their arse, I was able to free one of the KLRs and run it to the airport....my buddies are showing up in a few hours, so I park the GS and ride one KLR to the airport, park it and taxi back to Alamo Cycle Plex to get another....rinse repeat...and then 3 bikes are waiting to get this ride started when my brod get off the plane....










so Randy and Todd are ready....I let Todd ride the GS for a few days while I sort out my stuff on the KLR.....

now Dr Todd has run enough bikes in his days...BUT I do see a grin on hios face here after only a few miles on the GS...

so we roll out......happy to be able to share some time together for a weekend run again.....Randy getting back in the saddle on his KLR...

and to try to fix up Randy's supertrapp that just blew the guts out of it 20 miles back...P.O.S..IMO...straight pipes are too loud on the KLR...LOL...so let's hammer that wad O metal back in there eh? at Vinny's tire shop.......

what do you think?...Randy & Todd know how to fix stuff righteous!...1,000 miles to go !....let;s giver!

so I had this sign made up to have some gal to hold to meet N greet my buddies at the airport, but my timing was F'd up by the dumba$% at cycle shop....so I still was on a quest to find a sign model....lemme see try this one....paging Dr Todd & Minister Randy

I finally get myself yet another ride with this cool trials bike.....I am gud.

What a great report Jeff! Looks like a great ride too! I'm still sad and a dumbass!! Seeing those pictures gave me the same feeling I had whenever I'd see an ex-girlfriend out with another guy-but of course I've been married now for 17 years-doh!! Enjoy the bike Jeff!!

Tops ride report. Just a question; did someone steal the rear shock absorber off the Hayabusa or is it supposed to be that low at the arse end? Doesn't look like she'd corner too well!

I am not into the Hyabusa gig and don;t know much...but my busa nut bro Todd has that baby lowered and such for the track...but he/we run it on the road once and awhile.....it is sick.....the electric shifter was nuts....just crank the throttle and hair trigger the button to gear up...he has been doing sub 9 sec 1/4s at the track.....he is a dope though....xoxo....
