I wanna see your Safari Tanks (Norcal)

I am planning on taking an extended trip this summer to Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. The small stock fuel tank combined with minimal MPG on my 990 has me once again seriously thinking about the safari tanks. I know about the aux. tank that can replace the left pipe but I don't like the look and it's not a huge $ saver over the safaris. And I also feel if I'm going with bigger/aux tanks the added 2 gallons isn't worth it.

So, I have never seen a set of safari tanks in person. Does anyone has a set that lives remotely close to San Francisco or Tahoe (or surrounding areas giving a good reason to ride somewhere). I'd like to see the fit, finish, how much bigger it makes the bike and how heavy it feels fully loaded.

Thanks.

Thanks.
I like your plan.
Would be cool if CJ made his aluminum tanks available to general public.

Thanks you everyone

I ordered a set of black safari tanks today from www.ktmtwins.com. I look forward to spending less time at gas stations.

I'll post back with my thoughts after a while.

I think you will be happy with the purchase.

Every time I go to Baja and death valley I wish I had more gas range. This year on a 2700 mile offroad trip I had an entire pannier filled with a rotopax and 6 msr bottles.

Congrats!

If you offered to buy mine from me for $100 more than I paid.. I'd turn you down.

They're keepers (and my time to install them is worth more than $100 )

You sure can. I've ticked my tanks off at each gallon.

Never worry about how much fuel you have ever again.

Cool2

I'm 12 hours away from winning some Safari tanks from ebay.
They are second hand but BNIB.
The present owner got them with his bike unfitted and doesn't want them.
My question to you good peeps is what else should be with the package?
Besides the tanks what else should be there?
Many thanks!
