This is what you need nowadays. Or camouflage, and an exhaust bubbler snorkel thingy.

Seriously though..

If you have a plate and you stay away from graded residential lots you might be okay providing it's not posted. Best to stay as far away from homes as you can also. Limit your riding to 1/2 hour or less.

Have you checked out east levee? There's acesss, you'll have to see if its posted tho。

Dirt roads at the rice fields would be good probably.

1979 riding the east levee by delpaso road...
Stopped by plainclothes security...
I only talked myself out of a ticket by telling them I would tell all my friends to never ride there.
They spoke of the errosion.

In/out quick on a plated bike...maybe, but what fun is that?
Used to be you could go to mammoth bar anytime. it was undeveloped wide open and free. Stay over night, have a party. Now we share day use with horses and mountain bikes for a fee. No OHV today? WTF?
Better off to take it some where legal.
There's been an 80% rise in off road use since 1982 according to the bee.
They are going to have to put us under some control...and they have...heavy controls.

You don't have to pay at MB or prarie city if you ride your plated bike there. I asked a ranger once at MB on a weekday
and he said technically you're not parking and that the fee is for parking.

That's why you can haul as many people and ohv's as you want or can and it's still $5.

I have a pass for when my youngster gos riding with me. it's $50 for a year. It paid for itself within two months.

Back on topic, who's riding where and when? I'm back at work m-f so only have sat and Sunday for riding. Saturday I'm riding with the boy, but Sunday I'll try to farm him out so I can ride.

I'm looking forward to the longer days of spring so I can go for a longish ride after work.

Nice video, I think I may have been on that road where you guys stopped at the bridge. I was on a street bike and came in from the other direction?? If Iam not mistaken that road runs into Jackson Hy above Rancho Murriettia?? I miss riding around that area, wish I would have had my DS then. I would ride as far I dared on some gravel or dirt then wuss out.

Drum brakes on the front Baby! Those kids don't know what they're missing.

Looks like a good time.

Actualy that's got tremendous stopping power...yet never unpredictable or skidish.
Had that laced up in 78...
Went from 6" SLS to 8" DLS hub. The same as used to stop the 3 cyl triples of the day. Works really well even after water crossings.
Scoops up the air at shoe #1 and blows it out past shoe #2.
Gives lots of weight too...

Thanks for stopping yes what a trip. Bad spot to be hangin out working on a bike.

Everything worked out fine it could have been worse.

So a few weeks back my SE vaporized my new M4 Paraglider after one of the straps came loose. Expensive mistake.

Vaporized wing

https://picasaweb.google.com/1158390...24912282560418

Well I wasn't about to let a vaporized wing get in the way of optimizing the fun factor in a day. So I thought I give it another try with some more adjustments. To make a long story short the soft panier webbing at the passenger peg gave out. In return I was rewarded with a cam strap wrapping around my hub/sprocket and tear off my chain guard. Caught it just enough time before possibly locking up rear tire or doing more damage.

Needless to say I think I'm going to backoff for a while in toting around a paraglider. The two don't seem to want to get along.

Nytro there is a designated LZ right off that Marshall Grade almost right where you saw me on the side of the road. More likely any given day where its warm and sunny look up and you will see Paragliders their.

I'll continue to monitor the board for upcoming rides. As it warms up (thermal season) I'm torn on carving the ground or air.

Reckon its good problems to have.

Cheers

Ouch. Bummer about the wing!

I saw the LZ on Marshall Grade. In fact I watch a lot of people flying during the summer. My house is on top of a hill in Pilot Hill and overlooks that whole valley along HWY 49. Some of you guys get some serious altitude!

Also, I see a lot of people launching from a hill at Cronan Ranch. Looks like a lot of fun.

Hey Jay,

Sorry to hear about the wing. Is that something that is repairable or do you have to replace the whole foil?

Weather pending, maybe it'll give you a little quality time with your SE while the wing gets fixed.

Hey SierraJeep, Glad to see you got your bike out.

Looked like getting it out was almost as much fun as getting in. Well, maybe not. But close.

It's been 6-days since the last post. It looks like with this rain we're all waiting it out.
