It is. I went to the last one and learned a lot. 4 hours sounds like a long time but he's a good speaker and the time goes by pretty quick.

I was planning on trying out a Poker Run put on by the Stockton motorcycle club. It is from 9:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. May 6, 2012 that is a Sunday I believe

If anyone wants to go let me know we can meet up and ride down together

The trails are still closed but a lot of the dirt roads off MRR and FH rd are more or less clear. I was up there last Friday and there were only a few snowfields I didn't try to ride through.

Haha I wish. They're worth $500 a gram, that's what the Nasa guy said...some pretty pricey space rocks.

I'm always running on the trails in the area where it came down. Maybe I'll put some magnets on the dogs paws and see if they find anything...

Good luck man. There were hundreds and hundreds of people in Marshall State Park over the weekend with their eyes glued to the ground. I know because I live there. The NASA and SETI Reps said only one of these types of meteors hits the Earth every year and its usually over the ocean. Its pretty awesome that it hit right in our backyard.

Yeah, I saw them too. We've been over there a few times to see all the craziness. There was a group of about 100 at the Magnolia trailhead yesterday (Monday) with their magnet sticks. Might need to break out the scuba gear and check the river as that's probably the only place that hasn't been searched yet.

My meteorite comment was kind of self-serving. I was actually one of the first few to find one (5 grams) last Tuesday 4/24 off Bassi Rd. I've been an amateur collector for a few years so I was all over this sighting when it happened. I've been back a few times since but haven't found anymore. I'm going to start riding up on future trips. I think the bike will give me more flexibility in getting around. That terrain is a bitch!

BTW, the going price is $1,000 a gram. I've had lots of offers but I'm not interested in selling. Here's a picture of it if you're interested.

I rode Latrobe road and south shingle yesterday. Just a heads up, there is a closure of Scott road on the 6th from 8am to 4pm for an event.

Closed from white rock rd to Latrobe road.
