I ended up getting a late start so needed to do a quicker ride... Headed up past Forrest hill and rode Chicken Hawk and around in that area.. It was cold!

Brrr!! That was at 12:30 today? Wow. That's a little cold for my blood. Call me a fair-weather rider if you want. :/ Maybe I'll change my mind when I get some heated gear.

How is Chicken Hawk? I've only riddent Mosquito Ridge in that area. Would love to explore up there a bit more. Is is dirt/gravel, or paved?

(As you can see, I'm still somewhat new to ADVRider, so if there's a link to routes/descriptions somewhere, please direct me to it. Thanks)

It's dirt/gravel.... Pretty easy riding, but still fun and looks nice this time of year.
About half of the section was closed off so I only did a short portion.

If you take Gorman Ranch Rd from Mosquito Ridge, you can basically ride that all the way to michigan bluff, where you then connect with Chicken Hawk, and can ride that back up to Forrest Hill Rd.... From there you can ride up around sugar pine or ride back down and ride Yankee Jims or the roads in that area.

I was thinking about riding from Colfax to Washington(town) to Alleghany on the 950 or 570Berg, but need to back near Colfax by 3.

Probably Chalk Bluff, Lowell Hill Rd, or the powerline easement rd to Bear Valley.. or could even route thru Nevada City and out Casci Rd to 20 if anybody is coming from that area.

Beyond that I was thinking of Alpha Rd to Washington and a little known Rd across Poorman Creek to Graniteville Rd, and Plumbago to Alleghany.

Once again, when considering getting a spare "loaner bike", my logic ends up determining that I could get a decent XR650L for that much.

That must be why I haven't done very well at buying lighter, less powerful bikes.

I wish you well finding a buyer.
