Bernadette, wadda ya do'in outta the kitchen??
It's a bit like that in townsville . Maybe most kiddies arn't allowed out to play. If the bloody wet wasn't here I say we could catch up at mt garnet for an ale or 2. I think any trips to far from home might be a bit dodgy with the roads . Might get stuck somewhere in a pub for a couple of days .

Just a bit time poor at the moment with the arrival of our new baby boy 11 weeks ago. Planning on a ride in a few weeks though, just need the rain to ease up a bit thats all. It'l prob be from koah to mareeba through davies creek / clohesy river then acrossto atherton via tinaroo ck road then head back to koah. Takes most of the day. Otherwise might do black mountain rd area across to biboohra or mt molloy.

Always ready to ride and subscribed here as well so I pick up the chatter on the mobile, I think there were some responses on the old Cairns thread too.
Galbo950's ride sounds good. Just had a 2 day 4wd trip to Cooktown and a bit North with a family visitor, some mud now appearing on Battlecamp road and some XXXX fog at the Lions Den , it was so bad we had to get a cabin for the night! If I'd had a second bike we would have ridden it. Ken Quote:

YIPPEEEEEE!!!!
i was starting to think nobody cared...booh hooh! thanks for posting everyone.can i suggest we all just keep in contact via here. i will post here when im going for a ride and can i ask others to do the same until we get phone contacts etc etc. galbo, congrats on your baby boy! what a lovely time for you! for anyone that doesnt know me im located in innisfail. i can and will ride mostly any distance to meet up with other riders in their locality. i recently rode with ken and have also done some rides with abhi. im more for the adventure type stuff and dont mind camping out etc. i went for a ride on my own last week, out and around the local cane fields. you might not think much of this idea but its a great way to check out creeks and rivers while the cane is low. plus its great just seeing whats up around the next corner, and the next and the next and so on! often times you get some real good tracks to ride and other times you have to make your own way through. wish i had a helmet cam. some of the places for riding are really neat. i got majorly bogged in a cane paddock last week. tried to take a short cut across the corner of a paddock. big oops. i was up to my knees in mud but eventually got myself and the bike out. im keen to do a weekend ride when the rain eases. although i suppose it would be drier inland. there are heaps of tracks that would be ok in the wet. thats if you dont mind getting a bit dirty and wet yourself? |

Its not that dry inland at the moment, most of the rain we're copping here has been coming in from the west. Doesnt take to long to dry out though.
