Wink HP2 Enduro, official info...

Fellow inmates,
I'm starting this new thread because a little birdie has sent me the long awaited official info. The pics are screen captures of .pdf files, so please pardon the quality. If someone wants to host the .pdfs, just drop me a line and I'll send them your way.

Probably because there isn't a knobby available in 18 for a 450 pound 105 horsepower dirt bike.

Here's a the photo from the press kit:

Nah, his set up is still likely going to be less expensive installed on a brand new r1200 than this bike will cost....
That said I've heard rumors that this bike uses conventional electronics rather than the single wire bus stuff..anyone heard the same>?

They are listed just under the 17's here: http://www.mawonline.com/metzeler.htm

13 gallon tank

Anyone know the difference between "DIN Empty weight" and "dry weight"? We all know that dry weights are fantasies, but what do they do, take off the tires?

Gotta love that "1130 cc". Good way to track the rumor mill.

I saw this

HP on the Bob's BMW site and searched here to see if anyone else had info posted. Your's is a better post. The bike looks neat. I hope it is priced close to the ADV or GS and not $25K.

I think it looks pretty sweet (save the headlight). A must have for the boxer purests. I just can't imagine riding a bike with that much horsepower in the dirt. Heck I replaced my 450r with my 250x because 45 ponnies were too many for me in tight technical single track. (And I'm an A class hare scramble rider.) It must be intended for short races and not ralleys? With no windscreen or protection for route sheets, GPS's ect. That headlight is only for daytime use, it would be useless at night. A 13 liter tank must be intended for short races. Does anyone know anything about the German cross country races? How long are they? What are the classes?

I must also eat crow and say I was dead wrong when I said that I did not think BMW would ever make a production bike based on Jimmy's baja bike. It was the Acerebis Headlight that threw me off. Now I can see why he put the Acerebis on.

This is the link to MOTORRAD, the german bike mag:

http://www.motorradonline.de/d/14769...=%2Fmrd%2Fhome#

Just click on "Grosse Photo Show der neuen HP2" and you see a load of nice pix of the HPN GS ("Naechstes Bild" means next pic"). It is said to be around 16.000 Euros, as you can see only one disc, air shocks, a longer final drive swingarm, but still the CAN bus.
