Hi All,
Well… the bullet is through the church as we would say in Holland..
The plans for Wipe Your Own Balkans are starting to take shape.

The route and places to sleep will still need a lot of work, so nothing definitive there yet.

THE LIST IS CLOSED !!!

First riding day will be on Sunday May 13^th and the last riding day will be Thursday May 24^th

Starting and finishing in Austria close to the Slovenian border from where the trails will start. We will probably have one rest day somewhere in the middle. So far we have tracks for a loop through Slovenia and Croatia, you can see some pictures from when we did that loop in 2008 here: http://roos.smugmug.com/Travel/ItalySloveniaCroatiaBosnia/5965889_5H7HGV#372213827_CXEie but everything is still possible routewise ;-)

Important to know if you decide to join us:
The formula will be the same as WYOA Portugal, we supply the tracks and the waypoints/campsites where we meet up for the evening/night and everybody can do what they want en however they like to fill in their days during the trip. But… when we where there, we could not find any campsites in the inlands (where the best tracks are), so we did a lot of wild camping. We will try to find as many campsites on route as we can find, so we have definite places to meet up, but a big chance we can’t find campsites for all the nights. In that case we will give you a track for 2 days, which you can split in half wherever you want, you will need to find your own lodging, like wildcamping, hotel etc... You’re free to do whatever you like, just know that not all nights will be arranged.
We do not all ride in one or a few big groups, or do we organise for everybody to have a riding buddy, you are responsible for forming riding groups yourselves.

The tracks will not be perfect, so you will stumble on closed roads, un-rideable roads, non-existing roads, etc. So know how to work with your GPS and maps if necessary. Also keep using you head, don’t go down a hill, you’re not sure you can get back up and vice versa, also Croatia still has plenty of landmines, we saw many warning signs, so don’t leave the main track when you see those signs.
