UK riders insurance green card not required

WTF, I try to read the small print of ebike policies, and you need to be a f*cking barrister to make any sense of it..... so I've had a look into the MIB pages and this shows 'No Green Card Required' for Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary.
Take a look here.

Timpo.

Doesn't your greencard state 'HR' is oke?
Mine does, as all the other countries on that list that says No on that website...
I've been wondering what that means, that you don't need a green card for practically all of europe, (how are you insured then?) that I'm starting to believe this should be read differently, something like these countries are automatically included or something and you need no seperate insurance?

Funnily enough I have been on the phone to Bennetts a number of times in the last few days trying to get clarity on my insurance cover.

I am covered at the same level as the UK for everywhere apart from Croatia. However Article 7(2) of EC Directive 72/166/EEC means that I have minimum 3rd party cover for more countries including Croatia. Bennetts were not very forthcoming about this and I had to push hard to get them to agree.

I have been looking for some short term cover today for a bit more cover but unless anyone can shed any light on a UK Broker who can offer this service I have had no luck.

Frustrating minor hiccups but I can't wait for the trip.

Matt

The small print on my ebike policies (x2) states:-

In compliance with European Union (EU) directives the insurance provided by this policy will allow the minimum cover
required to use Your Motorcycle in:
i. Any country which is a member of the European Union
ii. Any country which the Commission of the EU is satisfied has made arrangements to meet the requirements
of Article 7.2 of the EU directive of Civil Liabilities arising from the use of Motor Vehicles.

Have you tried Carole Nash?? My insurance runs out in two weeks and their quote includes 30 days cover in Europe, which includes all the countries we're riding. I don't know if they offer short term cover though.

As long as I have an arsehole, I'll never go with ebike again! The term 'pay peanuts, get monkeys' is definately in their recruitment process.
