Columbus Ohio Weekly ADV Dinner

When? Every Tuesday night. Year round.

Where? To be determined at the previous week’s dinner. New place each week. Try to change it up a bit. Mostly locally owned & non-chain. Let’s try to keep it within 40 miles of downtown. Check this thread for the location of this week’s get together.

Time? 6-6:30ish….Pretty flexible.

Why? Kick tires, bench race, tell lies, show off farkles, plan rides….The general fellowship of the Church of Adventure…….experience new food…..make fun of people….*get made fun of.

Who? Any of you ornery FFs that want to show up….. Girlfriends, wives, kids…etc. too.

Ride? Perhaps before, perhaps after…..maybe you came by car, maybe you do not even have a bike yet. Maybe you only do track days, Maybe you only ride off-road. ALL
BRANDS & BIKES welcome* (just because you are welcome does not mean you are immune to being made fun of.)

Who is in charge? No one. I just want to get the concept started based on what I know works for these things. Where it goes is up to the group.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why Tuesday? Because it is the night that seems to work best for most people….perhaps not you, but most people. You get the start of the work week out of the way….most “Bike Nights” are on Wed if you are into that sort of thing…….Thursday is the last night at home before the “weekend” starts……Friday, well there is just too much going on…….TUESDAY WORKS!

Why EVERY week? Consistency! You never have to think about what week it is within the month or any of that other BS. It is every Tuesday. Perhaps you can only make one Tues a month….That’s fine, it can be any Tues you choose.

Why not make it rotating nights? Again consistency, because people can’t keep up with that shit.

Why different locations? Try different food….expand the group. A Polaris area dinner gives a Mt Vernon FF a chance to ride down, but might be too far for someone from Circleville. If we hit up the Ohio Deli the guy from Marysville might not come down, but here comes that Grove City dude...Get it?

Usually an informal group of 6-20 show up each week…..some arrive early & finish early, some arrive late and finish late. Some stop by to eat, others just for a quick beer and a hello. It is what you make it.

I work late Tuesdays, but come summer it'll stay light later, and I'm sure you'll all be sticking around shooting the shit into the evening, so I'll make some appearances.

I should be able to make most of these. Have a horse issue to deal with tonight so won't be able to make this one.

Sorry I missed the post. I was riding all evening wondering how many bikes were out and about. I'll be joining periodically. Thanks for the post.

Food was very good. I need to try lots of other stuff there. I had the hummus to start, and a small Gyro with Feta only. Way too much, not certain how anyone would be able to eat their large or jumbo.

The person sitting next to me had some sort of chicken that was pounded flat, grilled and then covered with lemon sauce. It was served with rice & pita and looked awesome.

I took home a piece of baklava for desert. It was the best I have ever had.
