SW Gravel Loops?
Happy Friday all, glad to see the sun shining! I know gravel in SW Ohio is like finding a needle in a haystack. Does anyone know if a gravel loop or easy dirt section (F650 friendly) that is within an hours ride of Dayton? I would like to do the road enduro on 4/14, but Zanesville is just too far away for me that weekend. I'm down for riding on Saturday 4/13 if anyone wants to get together.
Cheers!

Got my olympia xmoto gear and let me tell you its a sweet kit. Extremely well made and thought out with tons of adjustments buttons & velcro. Cant wait to try it out. Nothing like spending an extra penny or two and being completely satisfied.

4,900 miles. Bike has fresh top end, new tires, full tank of fuel. ![]() Runs REALLY nice. I might need to take this thing out for a run around Brown County. What's the weather look like for next weekend? Dualsport screwed with this post 03-12-2013 at 11:15 AM |

Ride
OK, I'm getting PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome)
Lets plan on a ride soon (weather permitting) Eastern Ohio, Southern Kentucky or Tellico Plains. Trailer there. Stay in cabins or hotel. A 6-8 on our comfort scale. Mostly gravel, some dirt/mud, broken pavement - knobbies preferred Dualsport screwed with this post 03-15-2013 at 04:23 AM |

I think you mean the 21st. Unless I have a business dinner cancel (very possible), I won't be able to make it. Sold my WR, on the lookout for a new dual sport now so I can start hitting the trails with you all.

Kinda depends on what pops up. Probably a DRZ but a WR250R may be nice as well. I liked my WR250F although I wish Yammy would make a 450R as I could use a few more ponies.
Have been considering a KTM EXC or Husky TE as I will rarely hit the roads save for connecting trails but since there are no dealers near here, I'm concerned about the ability to get them serviced although I haven't looked into it thoroughly. Generally, for the more in-depth maintenance (valves adj, brakes, etc) I would take it to a pro as I usually lack the time and more importantly the experience to do it myself and be confident it's done correctly. However, I'm sure there are folks on here that do this on the side and may even be willing to show me. I know Ray just sold a TE and EXC but I had to move my WR first as I had absolutely no extra room to store it and I'm loathe to store a bike outside. Timing is everything! |
