FYI #3,,,just orderered 25 sets of adapter plates,left/right and center spacers for y Superlite II hubs...now these disc adapter are sot hat you can keep your oem disc rotors....the other alternative is that i make a spacer plate for use with my SuperliteI hub,,this hub was designed to create the lightest possible front wheel /disc/hub assembly for the HP-2s.
this was accomplished partly by using Galfer wavy/floating rotors for an even greater saving in un-sprung weight...will do a little weighing when i get a bike in the shop....

FYI #4,,,i get it that most of you favor keeping your TC/ABS capabilities,,,

once i get the final $$$ numbers for creating a complete oem hub/abs/TC unit for you to just bolt on your bike ,,i'll weigh making a custom hub that'll integrate the ABS/TC ring in the exact location as the oem unit,,,it's all in motion though,,,,that's for the front hub,,,my gut tells me that the rear wheel/hub may be a bit more expensive,,hence may stick with the oem hub for the time being..

so Greg,,,what color rims,hub,brake adapter do ya want for Superlite -ST wheel set #001

holler,,we're getting ready to drop the hammer,,the 6061-T6 plate has been ordered yesterday....
will keep you all posted and see if i can post a pic or two to whet your whistles.

21" / 18" for me mate...

I am as excited as a kid in a candy shop....

Like you said Woody, the 21" front will definately settle down the S10' front end. Hodgo and I were doing comparison rides yesterday afternoon (on 950's) and this is one thing that was quite noticable between bikes.

Greg seems to think the combination of 21" / 18" is the path to take. I am in definately in for this. The ground clearance will be great with this combo.

18 '' rear clearance

FYI,,just got finished skyping with greg

he's doing a few double cheks on the clearance issues with going 18''

FYI #2= if you tell me the OA diameter of whatever you have and then tell me the clearance between that tire measurement and your swingarm,,,then i cna figure out what BWOE a 140/80x18 rally-raid tire mounted on a 2.5x18 or 3.5x18 rim will end up...it's simple math,,,

my dilemna is their are so few guinea pigs to do the measuring on

and with your assistance we can get this project moving in the right direction...

you're reading my mind


I am ok with single disc front but would prefer to keep the balance (and save messing around with M/Cyls) of twin discs.
For the time being it would save some time,,,the big deal is getting the 21 up there...we can fine tune the single disc reality separately.



Would probably look at Galfers to save some weight..
we're already looking into that,,to see if they have em for the stock/oem hub as well as the galfer green pads for oem calipers ,,we know they have em for the ktm 950[the bolt pattern i copied for my Superlite-I hubs.....Folks,,,IMHO,,,based on the feedback from satisfied customers,,,there are no better mods for the brakes to convert to ss braided lines and the galfer wavy/floating rotors sporting their green pads especially off-road....the sensitivity,,feel and power are amazing



Do you recon that encoder plate could be machined into the front hub?
it'll definitely be incorporated into a new Superlite ST hub were i too design it


Or would it be better to just re-rim and re-spoke the OEM hubs?
this is the easiest least expensive way of going about it,,,that'is if you send me you're hub/wheel assy and/or i send you a Superlace kit and you lace n true it or have someone down there do it for you...if we do it all well then i will warranty my handiwork for a year



Just thinking about the masss and what they may desire This would be far and away the most sought after mod I think.

please note the lower the tire profile the wider the rim ya need a wider rim to support the lower sidewalls,,this of course is counter=productive when going fast in the rough...lower tire profiles and hard objects is good for me but not for you

I concur that 13.25" to maybe 13.4" for swing arm clearance, 13.5" might be zero clearance, plus center stand crossbar also comes into play about the same distance.

The 18 rear would raise the gearing a bit also.

K60 Scout makes a 150/70/18 which is about 26.27" OD.

good job mate,,,'tis often overlooked[not really]...and i'm glad you brought the subject up..

FYI,,we usually can gain a bit of clearance on the swing arm by just warming the contact point with a torch and giving a few wacks with a mallet..simple effective and doesn't hurt the integrity/strength of your swingarm.

Subscribed. Though I would be more interested in 21", 18" wheel set with your hubs, discs,etc, if can keep the TCS and ABS.

Hi guys. Im still concern about how the changes of both wheels can affect the ABS and TC.
Even if we keep the original hubs, I assume these systems are programmed with the original wheels diameter so, if we increased 2 the front wheel and only 1 the rear I supposed the systems ad to be reprogrammed or they will work wrong???

ABS and TC are some of this bikes' greatest features, and lets admit, we all paid a lot for them when purchasing the bike, so it's of best interest to keep them.

Also, both sistems are quite sensible to their imputs. This ABS can work on and off road, knowing how to behave only by recurring to speed sensors. I think it's more than probable that a different wheel diameter will screw it to some degree.
