Getting shot at might be an indication.
Ideal camo spots are also hull down positions.

You know you've been playing too much WoT when you're backing your car out of a space at the grocery store and you cut the wheel the wrong way initially.

often times the first shot is deadly on a tank with zero armor

advise
So, I need the sage advise of the resident tankers here. I am about to move up to the next tier of tanks (VI), either german or russian line. My options are:
Russian side: KV-1S or KV-2 German side: VK3001P or VK3601H I am not very good at this game (average at best), I like sniping. Which tank would you recommend from the list above. Not a premium player, so i got to watch my silver. Playing on EU server btw. Thank you all for the help in advance, B.

For sniping.....KV-2 w/ 107. Problem is it doesn't lead to any other tanks. KV-1S would also be a good choice, but it's top gun is not as accurate. You might be better off waiting until you have the T-150 researched and then go with it with a 107 mounted up.

If you like sniping, go for the 3601. But the KV-1S is a hoot with the top gun.

the VK3601H is one hell of a tank. it snipes well. but also look at where they lead to. I cant tell you about the KV line never played them. Everything behind the 3601 can snipe very well but the play stile you will pick up with the 3601 and the Tiger doesn't carry over into the Tiger2 and the E-75. the 3001 goes up the other tree to the E-50s i think, i know the Panther get's a good long gun. but above it i cant help you.

I've got both the 3601 and 3001. I haven't gone up the Russian line at all. I prefer the 3001, but I can use it as a medium tank play style. It's faster and seems to have the same accuracy. It has less hit points than the 3601, but it seems to take hits better. My 3601 starts on fire more. Both tanks are fully upgraded with a 100%+ crew and the 88.
The M12 seemed to be hitting better since 8.1, I've pushed it off to the wayside over the last few months because it sucked so bad. I still want to head up the tree and have been playing it more. I'm not getting many kills, but doing a lot of splash damage helping knock em down for team mates to kill em easier. If only they would do their part, my win ratio would go up a bit. ![]() Speaking of, The Patton is still at 38% win ratio. I've actually been making a little money on it, but I can't seem to win battles. It's really frustrating. |

Pro-tip: stop sniping, start winning. KV-1S is boss.
I've pulled my Patton up to ~50% lately. I wish I could tell you how, but I'm really not sure. I do a lot of skirmishing... All I can say is save your hitpoints for critical moments, then spend them deliberately (with allied tanks in tow, hopefully).

I like this tip, and may try it for my Patton. Hopefully those Patton-killing tier 2's and 3's will be off of the battlefield by then, lol.

had a few games last night where the Tiger 2 took over 20 hits, and not from small tanks ether. Mambo Dave if you'd like I'll get you the game file so you can see the angles i was using. One of the games I was playing scout and holding a side on karelia. could I have been flanked, yes but for them to flank me it opened them up to my whole team.
