Back to dealer she will go. I mentioned the warning light failure last time to the service tech when the bike was in for the warm start issue but it had a full tank of gas at the time. They said they couldnt replicate the problem.

I had exactly the same thing happen to mine except I did run out of gas and coasted to a stop. I haven't been into the dealer yet so I'd be interested to hear how it turns out. What's interesting is that when I turn my ignition switch on and the system runs its warning light check the fuel light does light so it must be the sender unit.

i had this problem on my 2011g. pull the seat off and there is a rubber boot for the sending unit in the fuel tank. look in the opening for the connector to the sending unit. there will be a broken wire. i had to point it out to the dealer after they didnt duplicate the problem.

Is there any chance of you posting a pick of wich wire?? It would be greatly apreciated. Is it the boot covering the battery?

There isn't a boot covering the battery -- the battery is up high under the black plastic panel in front of the seat.

If you take the seat off, there's a big round rubber boot visible. That's the one.

Glad you're looking -- I'm really curious to see if this is your problem as well!

it was the white wire with the blue tracer, as you can see a green wire with a black tracer was used to repair. sorry for the size, cant figure out how to shrink it.

Thanks for the pic dash2. Ya thats the same white and blue wire on my bike that has the nick in it so it is a possibility reckon.
